| A family commitment to quality and service | |
Since 1966, GW Homes has successfully constructed more than 4000 houses of differing styles and sizes across the Greater Brisbane area as well as on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Throughout this period, quality and service have become a proud family tradition established by founder Grant Williams, carried on by his sons Andrew and Mathew and daughter Jody, and embraced by the company’s ‘extended family’ of long-serving key personnel.

Grant Williams, GW Homes Founding Director, is widely respected for his many years of involvement in the Queensland Building Industry, serving on the Queensland Master Builders Association Council since the late 1970s. Grant is a Past President and current Trustee of QMBA. He also worked tirelessly with the Housing Industry Association Council from 1981 to 1988, and served on the Builders Registration Board of Queensland for nine years. He is still actively involved within both GW Homes and the industry in general.

Andrew Williams started with the company in 1980. Upon completing school he was apprenticed to the company as a carpenter, then after completing his apprenticeship he went on to gain his own Builders Licence. After subcontracting independently for four years he moved into G W Homes as a Building Supervisor and worked his way through the company structure to his current position of Managing director.

Mathew Williams started with the company in 1982 also working part-time through school holidays alongside a builder’s labourer. Then followed the family tradition of being apprenticed to the company as a carpenter, and subsequently gaining his own Builders Licence. During his many years as a subcontractor, Mathew trained another six apprentice carpenters before joining the company as a Building Supervisor and Director.

Jody Armstrong (nee Williams), our Sales, Design and Marketing Consultant, brings more than two decades of design experience to assisting GW Homes clients with decisions about their new home’s finishes and colours. Jody specialises in design concepts, interior and exterior finishes.

Alan Coates, our Designer, has been with GW Homes since 1985. Our Accountant, Jane Lamont, has been with us since 1990. And many of the company’s sub-contractors and tradesmen have been with us for decades – an invaluable advantage for our clients because we know they’re professional, and they know (and deliver) the high standards of workmanship we demand.
